The objective of CHENGO is to observe the various organisational approaches and identify best practices in rural electrification using PV from an institutional, technical, marketing and financing point of view. As such, it is now timely to examine the various approaches and to try to develop and present some coherent, consistent and rational policies that will enable a mix of approaches for rural electrification. The purposes of rural electrification:

To bring out the advantages and impacts of strategies on PV technology through various successful stories that involves in rural development.

To understand what are the various financing mechanisms developed for creating market and existing PV deployment in the rural regions of Africa.

To learn about the available financial incentives and schemes for its operation

To understand the barriers in market development and reducing the subsidies.

  • ● I have been a registered nurse for 34 yrs; Specialized in Cardiac ICU, Telemetry, Med. Surgical Nurse, Pediatric ICU, Neonatal ICU, Home Care Nurse for Adult and pediatric patients with extensive background in family-centered teaching approach to health maintenance.

    ● I have extensive experience in hospital and healthcare facility start ups, and maintenance

    ● I have volunteered in numerous health fairs in Houston and surrounding cities. I belong to a compact state license group in the United States of America.

    ● I am a member of the Texas Nurses Association. I have also conducted health fairs in Enugu since I came back back

  • ● I was a member of Enugu Provincial Union (EPU) from 1988-1994 as an assistant secretary from 1990-1992.

    ● I became the first woman Vice President of EPU from 1992-1994.

    ● A member of EPU women Organization until dissolved in 2000.

    ● A member of Eziokwu Bu Ndu Cultural women group where I was the secretary for 12 years from 1989 to 2001.

    ● I assisted in multiple areas, from organizing fundraising activities, to raising thousands of dollars for charity events in Houston Texas for many Nigerian Organizations.

    ● Member Igbo Peoples’ Congress (IPC) since 2001 to present where I was appointed the Chairwoman for cultural group leader for 3 years (2002-2004). I did organize all the youths from both elementary, and high school children for yearly cultural events and many awards given. I also championed some fundraising activities for IPC during the term of my appointment.

    ● A member of Umuada Wawa women cultural group in 2002 to present. In 2003, I became the second President of Umuada Wawa for 4 years (2-consecutive terms). I took Umuada wawa through great heights in Houston Texas, and America at large, through which its name was highly recognized. Under my leadership, we achieved a lot: from improving our relationships, to organizing our youths. We became the first Nigerian organization to launch a huge project involving a community center for all Igbo events and much more. I raised several thousands of dollars for projects for Umuada Wawa (over 200k dollars) during my entire term in the office. Under my leadership, we shipped lots of goods to some charity homes in Enugu, and some computers to ESUTH.

    ● I was a member of the Nigerian Union from 2005, up until when I left for Nigeria in 2011. During those years, I held an office as the Nigerian Union Chief of Protocols for international affairs since 2006, coordinating every foreign visitor from Nigeria to Houston. We usually organize a reception to discuss issues that are of concern with Nigeria. It was a great way for communicating our ideas to our mother- land leaders back then. I did organize many panels for discussions within Houston, among all Nigerian tribes.

    ● I was a member of Nsukka Union in Houston, a union that I was instrumental in creating with a few other Nsukka members back in 1991-92. I also was a member, and among the executive members of Nsukka USA where I played a greater role in its formation both financially and otherwise.

  • ● I have been involved in my country affairs through Fort bend /Houston, Texas via the Nigerian Union in numerous campaign activities either for gubernatorial, councilors, and presidential elections.

    ● I have been involved in the reception of several Nigerian dignitaries: Including Governor Chimaroke during his visit to Houston in 2001. My husband and I hosted His Excellency, Deputy Governor Okey Itayi in our home with the whole Nsukka Community in 2001, where we discussed the birth of Nsukka USA.

    ● As a member of the Nigerian Union, I organized the reception for our former senate president, Chief Ken Nnamani in 2006 when he visited Houston Texas. I have been the Nigerian Union Chief of protocols and international affairs since 2006 up until I left for Nigeria in 2011.

    ● I was a chairmanship Aspirant for Igbo Eze South Local Government Area in both 2011, 2013, and even for 2015. I haven a member of PDP since 2009 as I live most of my live in USA. Im 2022, I vied for the federal house of Representative for Nsukka/Igbo-Eze South constituency. In 2022/23 election. I contested as the Deputy gubernatorial Candidate for APGA with His Excellency Frank Nweke Jr. I was chosen as the most viable candidate. Because of the Love I have for my country and knowing that one day I would come home to join hands with other leaders in making our country better, I came home in 2009 to obtain my PDP membership card as well As my PVC.

    ● I am very much committed to the political activities in my local government, especially my ward and I champion most of the activities there and this can be verified through my chairman and other members. My party participations in the local government can also be verified through my dedicated Council Chairman and other reputable members as well.

    ● I was appointed Special Assistance to the Governor of Enugu state, Rt. Hon. Dr. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi from March 2015 to May 2019.

    ● I organized the largest political grassroot group for the Governor called GUPM (Governor Ugwuanyi’s Progressive Movement). A group that started in June 2016, and is ongoing. The whole 17 local governments in the state down to the communities have a chapter of GUPM. I was able to turn up over six thousand members and the group was inaugurated on April 123th, 2017.

    ● I have provided lots of empowerment programs, including monetary and food distribution in my Local government.

    ● I have given and continue to give scholarships to the underprivileged persons.

    ● I have been supporting PDP financially and otherwise since 2011 through monetary, entertainment, and contributions.

    ● I have been the main supporter in my ward Umelor ovoko-Agu ward since the last 7 yrs now. I have hosted several lottery wards financially and food programs. I have empowered many youths and women in their petty trading business and many that I cannot mention all here.

    ● I hosted one of the largest Covid- 19 reliefs in Ovoko several times.

    ● In Nigeria since 2011, I have established from the ground up a few factory businesses, farming including fishery, poultry and piggery.

    ● I have currently built a production company that is expected to yield on a monthly average of 10 to 20 million, an annual gross of profit of 120 to 240 million naira (Herbal Alcoholic drink business ) Soon to take off in July, 2022.
